What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at Sweet B Cafe?
Job Overview
We are looking for a second baker to add to our team! This position would report to our current head baker with the possibility of taking over their role in the future.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of cookies, muffins, and other sweets ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
- Handle food packaging efficiently to ensure products are protected and presented attractively for retail or catering purposes
- Assist in food production tasks such as mixing, baking, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and safety standards
- Baking with correct temperatures and timing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering strictly to food safety and handling regulations
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining a positive work environment
- Create and test out new recipes for monthly specials
Experience
- Intermediate baking knowledge and experience (preferred)
- Basic understanding of the food industry standards related to quality control and customer service
Schedule
- Starting at 4:30am to finish around 7/7:30 in time for cafe opening Monday-Friday
- Starting at 4:30am to finish around 8/8:30 in time for cafe opening Saturday-Sunday
- Evenings as needed to test out new recipes
- This position would coordinate with our head baker to split up 7 days a week between them
