In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions at the register. Duties
- Operate cash registers accurately and efficiently during customer transactions
- Handle cash drawer management, including cash handling, counting, and balancing at the end of shifts
- Assist customers with their purchases, answer questions, and provide product information to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to ensure a welcoming environment
- Support sales efforts by promoting products and upselling when appropriate
- Follow all store policies and procedures related to cash handling and customer service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations throughout the shift
Requirements
- Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Ability to operate a cash register and point-of-sale (POS) systems effectively
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
