Commercial Journeyman Electrician
Sweep Construction is hiring a Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our in-house electrical team.
We are a growing commercial general contractor based in Albuquerque, with electrical and millwork capabilities in-house. Our projects range from healthcare and university work to public facilities, commercial renovations, occupied-space remodels, service work, and specialty projects throughout the Albuquerque area.
We’re looking for someone who is experienced, dependable, and comfortable working independently in active commercial environments.
What you’ll be doing
- Commercial electrical installation, remodel, repair, and service work
- Reading plans, specifications, and electrical drawings
- Installing and troubleshooting lighting, devices, circuits, panels, and related systems
- Working in occupied facilities where communication, cleanliness, and coordination matter
- Coordinating with project managers, superintendents, other trades, and clients
- Helping keep projects on schedule and identifying issues before they become bigger problems
- Providing field direction or support to apprentices as needed
- Maintaining safe, organized work areas and following company safety procedures
What we’re looking for
- Current New Mexico Journeyman Electrician license
- Strong commercial electrical experience
- Ability to work independently and make good field decisions
- Experience with remodels and troubleshooting
- Ability to read plans and understand project scope
- Reliable attendance and communication
- Professional attitude when working around clients and occupied facilities
- Valid driver’s license and clean enough driving record to operate a company vehicle
- OSHA experience is a plus
