What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Experience/Observations position at Sweeny ISD?
PURPOSE
Field Experience is designed to provide aspiring educators with an opportunity to observe in a classroom to gain first-hand knowledge of teaching, classroom procedures, and student learning. Field Experience is a precursor to student teaching or internship.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants MUST meet ONE of the following program criteria:
1. Enrollment in a college or university educator preparation course
Attach COURSE SYLLABUS requiring Field Experience
2. Enrollment in an Alternative Certification Program leading to teacher certification
Attach PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE LETTER as verification
DUTIES/ACTIVITIES
- Observe teachers in a classroom teaching and working with students
- Interview and discuss teaching and learning processes with teacher
- Teach an instructor-approved lesson with supervision (university students)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- A name-based background check will be conducted every school year from August 1- July 31.
- The candidate must contact the campus of their choice to make arrangements once the approval email is received.
- The field experience/observation must be conducted between September 12 - December 2, 2022 and January 9 - March 10, 2023.
Observations will follow all COVID-19 Safety Measures.
