Duties
- Safely operate a box truck to deliver furniture and household items to residential and commercial locations
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual lifting techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately according to route schedules and customer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting with product placement, answering questions, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during route driving
- Maintain detailed delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmation records
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, courier, or delivery driver with a focus on furniture or heavy loads
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating a box truck with manual transmission preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks safely and efficiently
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with loading equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus
- Knowledge of route planning and navigation tools for efficient deliveries
- Physical stamina to lift heavy items repeatedly and work in physically demanding environments
