The role offers the chance to contribute to the education and development of future Biomedical Scientists and healthcare professionals within one of the UK's leading Medical Schools. Working within a supportive and collaborative academic environment, you will deliver high-quality teaching across biomedical sciences, with opportunities to contribute to related areas such as pharmacology and medical sciences and immunology. The position provides an excellent opportunity to apply your professional expertise, engage with a diverse student community, and enhance your academic profile through scholarship, innovation, and involvement in the School’s wider research and teaching activities

The successful candidate will have expertise in blood sciences, including transfusion and/or immunohaematology. We would particularly welcome applicants with complementary knowledge or teaching experience in pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, therapeutics, or related biomedical disciplines that contribute to an integrated understanding of human health and disease. Experience as a Biomedical Scientist, Clinical Scientist, Pharmacologist, or in the delivery of Biomedical Science, Medical Science, or Pharmacology education would be advantageous. However, applicants with teaching experience gained through other healthcare, clinical, or professional training settings are also encouraged to apply.

The post holder will contribute to teaching across the wider life sciences portfolio within the Medical School, including opportunities to support modules relating to biomedical sciences, human physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and translational medicine, with appropriate support provided. There will also be opportunities to engage with and contribute to existing research activities within the Medical School, aligned to current research strengths.

Experience in the development and application of digital learning technologies that enhance the translation of scientific theory into biomedical and clinical practice, and that promote an inclusive and engaging student experience, would be desirable.

This maternity cover position offers an exciting opportunity to join Swansea University Medical School, one of the UK's leading Medical Schools, and contribute to the education and development of the next generation of biomedical scientists, healthcare professionals, and pharmacology graduates.
