The role in one line: A senior hands-on ServiceNow developer who builds and supports secure, FedRAMP-compliant solutions for the State of Ohio’s enterprise ServiceNow platform, and mentors junior and agency developers.
What the team should screen for
- Hard knockouts (check first)
- Fully onsite , Mon–Fri 8–5, with no remote or hybrid. They must be local to Columbus or committed to relocating.
- A ServiceNow certification: CAD (Certified Application Developer) or a CIS (Certified Implementation Specialist). Ask for the certification number and verify it.
- Core experience
- 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development, not administration. That covers Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, scoped apps, and API integrations.
- Work in regulated or government environments (FedRAMP, GCC High, federal or state government). This is the main differentiator.
- Enterprise release work: monthly releases, regression testing, UAT support, and integrations.
- Senior-level signals
- Has led root-cause analysis on complex platform issues.
- Has done code reviews and mentored other developers.
- Communicates well with both technical and business stakeholders.
