- Provide companionship through friendly visits, reading, conversation, or playing music.
- Offer caregiver relief through respite visits.
- Participate in bereavement support by making calls or writing letters.
- Help with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, or mailings.
- Document visit notes and time logs accurately and timely.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Able to pass background check and health screening (TB test, etc.).
- Completion of required hospice volunteer training.
- Flexible; generally 1–4 hours per week depending on volunteer availability and patient needs.
