Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer for a full-time hybrid role based in Canton, MA, with flexibility for remote work. The Principal Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced robotic systems for endoluminal surgeries. Responsibilities include defining technical strategies from early concept through commercialization with a strong emphasis on flexible endoscopy, robotic systems integration and regulated product development. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to innovative research and development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- 10 years of medical device development experience, with significant focus on flexible endoscope design
- Proven track record leading programs from concept through commercialization
- Demonstrated experience managing engineers and technicians in a hands-on environment
- Strong experience leading cross-functional engineering teams
- Deep understanding of regulated product development (FDA, ISO standards)
- Expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
