Role Overview
We’re seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven individual to serve as the Face of Swahili Village in Newark—representing the restaurant in the community and at city/venue events, building corporate partnerships, and creating a resident meal program for thousands of nearby apartments.
This is a sales-driven role with community leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Swahili Village as a public-facing brand ambassador at community and city events (including city hall–related events when applicable).
- Build and manage a resident meal program for residents across ~3500 nearby apartments within walking distance.
- Develop corporate headquarters and business clients for recurring event bookings (corporate dining, client hospitality, team events, etc.).
- Partner to capture show traffic by creating pre-show and post-show dining experiences tied to NJPAC and Prudential Centre events.
- Build strategic relationships across Newark (community leaders, organizations, stakeholders).
- Drive measurable sales outcomes and manage lead pipeline and follow-up.
Pay & Commission
- Base salary 2% commission on sales
- Performance incentives tied to corporate bookings, resident program growth, and show-traffic event performance.

Qualifications:
- Experience in sales, business development, hospitality/events, or community leadership/organizing
- Strong relationship-building skills and professional public presence
- Comfort working with executive stakeholders and coordinating events
- Organized and proactive—able to drive results, track bookings, and close opportunities
Preferred:
- Newark community knowledge and existing local relationships
- Experience with event dining, group sales, or resident-based programs
Pay: $68,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
