Accounts Receivable Clerk II

The Accounts Receivable Clerk II position is responsible for correctly posting all customer payments and resolving account discrepancies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
• Post accounts receivable daily
• Daily check and cash deposits
• Requests and pursues payment on delinquent accounts via communication with account holder.
• Make collection calls, send invoices, and check on payment status.
• Reconcile customer A/R accounts as needed
• Monitors accounts receivable and cash receipt reports.
• Rule on credit hold accounts daily until cut off time with the assistance of the Credit Manager.
• Maintains cash box daily
• Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
• Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Credit Manager and other staff.
• Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
• Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
• Trained for back up of Credit Manager

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
• Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of related experience required

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
