Fire Sprinkler Inspector

Job Summary

SW Fire Protection LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Fire Sprinkler Inspector to inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable NFPA standards, local codes, and company policies. The ideal candidate will ensure fire protection systems are operating properly, identify deficiencies, complete accurate inspection reports, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 25 and local fire codes.
  • Inspect wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pump systems.
  • Identify deficiencies, code violations, and system impairments, and communicate findings to customers and management.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports using electronic reporting software.
  • Test valves, alarms, gauges, water flow devices, supervisory devices, backflow preventers, and related fire protection equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs with service technicians when deficiencies are identified.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and complies with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, testing equipment, and inventory.
  • Provide professional customer service and answer customer questions regarding inspection findings and code requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all inspections performed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience inspecting fire sprinkler systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 13, and applicable local fire codes.
  • NICET certification (Level II or higher) or Florida equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read blueprints and fire protection system drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with tablets, mobile devices, and inspection reporting software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms, construction sites, warehouses, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and confined spaces when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET II Inspection Certification or Florida equivalent.
  • Experience with fire alarm or special hazard systems.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Backflow testing certification (where applicable).

Work Environment

This position requires travel to customer locations, including commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, and residential facilities. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to construction environments, mechanical equipment, and varying weather conditions.

Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
