Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including shuttle buses, limousines, and commercial vans to transport patients and clients.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist passengers with mobility devices or luggage.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure secure transportation.
- Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, professional, and attentive to passenger needs during each trip.
Experience
- Prior shuttle driving or delivery driver experience is highly preferred.
- Experience driving buses, limousines, or other commercial vehicles is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with paratransit services or school bus driving enhances your suitability for this role.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting effectively with passengers and team members.
- Ability to perform light maintenance tasks and conduct routine vehicle inspections confidently.
- Experience in heavy lifting or assisting passengers with mobility challenges demonstrates your versatility in this role.
- A valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type you will operate is required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) certification is advantageous.
