SVNA Home Assistance is seeking a motivated Caregiver for an opportunity in Winsted, CT. We are a non-medical home assistance company providing one-on-one care for elderly clients in their private homes.
Responsibilities include:
Maintaining a clean, neat, and tidy apartment, including upkeep of the bathroom and dishes
Light cooking and meal oversight to ensure the client is eating properly
Light grocery shopping as needed (major shopping will be handled separately)
Monitoring for safety concerns, including identifying potential trip hazards
Ensuring the client adheres to their prescribed medication schedule (via automated medication dispensing machine)
Providing personal care assistance, including showering and shaving support every other day
Encouraging and assisting with hygiene routines patiently and positively
Assisting with light exercise and outdoor walks when appropriate
Offering companionship, support, and promoting a safe and positive living environment
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Proof of authorization to work in the United States
Additional Information:
Client can independently shave and bathe with gentle prompting
No wound care or skilled nursing tasks required
Haircuts and specialized needs will be handled separately by the family
