As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk, you will have the opportunity to provide warehouse support to SVM’s Shipping and Receiving department. This position will play a crucial role in receiving incoming shipments, preparing materials for deliveries, and maintaining accurate and organized inventory within our warehouse.
What You Will Do
- Receive incoming shipments, ensuring the accuracy of the items by cross-referencing with packing slips or purchase orders.
- Unload and store incoming materials within designated storage areas.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to unload, load and move various materials within our warehouse and yard.
- Prepare, pull, and stage materials for deliveries in line with SVM’s established processes and guidelines.
- Generate packing slips including project details, job numbers and respective Project Manager information for accurate material delivery.
- Coordinate with Shipping & Receiving personnel as needed for deliveries.
- Scan packing slips and input received materials into our internal system to item tracking.
- Collaborate with internal personnel to notify them of received materials and any delays or discrepancies.
- Work closely with jobsite Foreman to locate and track materials as required.
- Assist with assembling office furniture and delivering it to designated areas within SVM’s office.
- Organize and optimize storage space for efficient handling of materials.
- Ensure all paperwork related to shipping and receiving is properly filed and documented within our internal systems.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness by sweeping floors, removing debris, and ensuring work areas are obstacle free.
- Assist the Shipping & Receiving department with other duties as business requires.
Education, Skills & Experience
- 2 years’ experience as a Warehouse Associate or equivalent role required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience utilizing a sit-down forklift.
- Experience safely and securely transporting items exceeding 10,000 lbs. required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience) required.
- Highly proficient with various office equipment and programs including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, One Note, etc.) required.
- Possesses strong attention to detail and ability to work independently to meet deadlines a must.
- Proven experience in inventory control utilizing excel or software a must.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills required.
- Demonstrates professionalism and the highest level of customer service a must.
Compensation & Company Benefits Include
This is a full-time non-exempt position. The compensation for this role is $21.00 - $25.00 per hour and is based on experience and skillset. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6:00am – 2:30pm. The work schedule/role includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two paid separate rest breaks.

- This role may require lifting, carrying, and transporting materials in excess of 50 lbs.

Salary : $21 - $25
