Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations within our dairy production facility. This position is responsible for supervising production employees, maintaining food safety and quality standards, meeting production goals, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and organizational skills, along with experience in food manufacturing, preferably in dairy, yogurt, cultured products, or related food processing operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production team members.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop production employees to improve performance, productivity, and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory requirements, including GMPs, HACCP, and company policies.
- Monitor yogurt production processes to ensure product quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Verify employees are properly trained and capable of performing assigned duties safely and effectively.
- Maintain production schedules and ensure production targets are achieved.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Production Management teams to support operational goals.
- Monitor production performance metrics and prepare daily production reports.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with investigations and corrective actions related to quality, safety, or production issues.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide coaching and corrective feedback as needed.
- Ensure production areas remain clean, organized, and audit-ready at all times.
- Enforce workplace safety policies and help maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support company growth objectives.
- Maintain flexibility to support overtime, weekends, and production demands as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2–5 years of supervisory or management experience in food manufacturing.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Experience managing production schedules and meeting operational goals.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, sanitation programs, and quality systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in dairy manufacturing, yogurt production, cultured products, or related food processing operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in refrigerated, wet, and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including PPE.
