Warehouse Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensure efficient inventory management, and lead a team of warehouse staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a solid understanding of logistics and materials handling. This role is vital in maintaining smooth distribution processes, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with safety standards such as OSHA. The Warehouse Supervisor will play a key role in coordinating shipping and receiving activities, managing warehouse systems, and supporting e-commerce fulfillment operations.

Duties

• Supervise daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and materials handling
• Manage and optimize warehouse distribution processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Oversee inventory management using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms
• Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff to ensure high performance and safety compliance
• Coordinate with logistics providers and 3PL partners to ensure timely delivery and shipment of goods
• Conduct regular process improvement initiatives to enhance operational workflows
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety protocols across all warehouse operations
• Operate or oversee the operation of forklifts and other mechanical equipment for heavy lifting and materials handling
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and receipts using inventory control systems
• Support e-commerce order fulfillment by managing picking, packing, and shipping activities efficiently
• Monitor warehouse layout for optimal space utilization and workflow efficiency

Skills

• Proven experience in warehouse management, supervision, or logistics roles with a strong background in warehouse distribution
• Expertise in inventory management, inventory control, shipping & receiving, and materials handling
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), AS400, and other logistics software such as OSHAs standards
• Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment operation including forklifts and conveyor systems
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency
• Knowledge of 3PL operations, e-commerce fulfillment processes, and heavy lifting techniques
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for warehouse safety compliance
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies such as warehouse management systems and logistics software
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and logistics partners
