AbouttheRole:
We are looking for a Suzano Packaging Controller to lead the financial operations across multiple manufacturing sites within Suzano Packaging in the United States.
The Controller will act as the financial leader for the Suzano Packaging division, managing a team and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting and financial processes.
WhatYou'reGoingtoDo:
Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Structure and optimize financial routines and workflows, especially during critical early-month closing periods
Oversee daytoday accounting activities (AP, AR, GL, payroll, capex and inventory management)
Ensure U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements and maintain accurate financial records
Ensure proper execution of cost accounting, including:
Raw materials and inventory (warehouse interactions)
Labor cost allocation (HR interactions)
Production cost
Actively identify and resolve bottlenecks in the closing process, including issues related to approvals, inventory, or cost allocations
Oversee P&L and EBITDA analysis, providing insights to support business decisions
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP/IFRS) and internal policies/internal controls
Partner closely with operations (manufacturing, supply chain, logistics) to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
Collaborate with FP&A to analyze budget vs. actual performance and identify key business drivers
Support FP&A with budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, ensuring high performance and accuracy
WhatWeExpectfromYou:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong experience in accounting and financial close processes (manufacturing environment preferred)
Solid knowledge of:
Cost accounting
Financial statements (P&L, EBITDA)
Inventory and warehouse financial impacts
Labor and production cost structures
Strong understanding of accounting standards (US GAAP or IFRS)
Experience managing or coordinating finance teams
Ability to organize processes, prioritize activities, and operate in high-pressure closing environments
Strong problem-solving mindset, able to identify and resolve operational-financial gaps
Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with cross-functional teams
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
