Suvie is a fast-growing food technology company revolutionizing dinner through a combination of smart kitchen appliances and gourmet meal kits. As we expand our international operations, we are building a high-performing team in Tijuana to deliver world-class products to customers.
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality control for our global production operations. This hands-on role requires a sharp eye for detail, strong leadership, and the judgement to know when to halt production and when to call in backup. You will be responsible for defining and performing quality control efforts across incoming inspection, WIP assemblies, and finished goods to ensure every product meets requirements and wows our customers, as well as defining quality standards and processes across global manufacturing locations and throughout the component supply chain, traveling to be onsite as needed.
Responsibilities
- Define and update quality control processes
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts, subassemblies, and finished appliances
- Conduct incoming quality checks on raw materials and components from suppliers
- Monitor in-process quality throughout the production line, reporting any deviations
- Execute final quality checks before product packaging and shipment
- Direct factory workers as needed to support quality efforts
- Proactively communicate and document inspection results, issues, and corrective actions
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with production and engineering teams
- Help ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety regulations
- Escalate quality issues to leadership and support root cause analysis
- Maintain calibration records and inspection documentation
Required Experience, Skills, and Certifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with basic measuring equipment, inspection techniques, and assembly techniques
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
- Excellent problem solving & critical thinking skills
- Clear, proactive, and efficient communicator
- Collaborative and proactive mindset; comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Computer & digital tool literate is a must - Google Sheets or Excel experience is critical
- Previous experience in home appliances, electronics, or similar industries is a bonus
- Vocational training or college degree required
- Additional certifications in quality control or manufacturing processes are a plus
- Fluent English communication skills required
- Spanish language fluency a plus
- Mandarin language skill is a plus
Logistics and Details
This is a full time position based in San Diego, California and includes salary, paid vacation time during typical federal holidays, and benefits. Salary is negotiable based on experience. Approximately 50% travel will be required, primarily to our Tijuana, BC, MX facility just across the border.
