School Committee Secretary
Stipend Position: $2,000 Annually
Position Summary
The School Committee Secretary serves as the official recording secretary for the Sutton School Committee and is responsible for maintaining accurate records of School Committee meetings and related documentation. The Secretary supports the School Committee by ensuring meeting minutes are prepared, maintained, and distributed in a timely and professional manner in accordance with Massachusetts Open Meeting Law and District procedures.
Reports To
School Superintendent
Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
Strong written communication and organizational skills.
Ability to accurately record and summarize meeting proceedings.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
Knowledge of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Terms of Employment
Annual stipend: $2,000
Appointment is made annually by the Superintendent.
Attendance at School Committee meetings is required.
Additional meetings may be required as determined by the School Committee Chairperson.
