MUST live in the Los Angeles area

The firm seeks talented attorneys who specialize in warranty work and handle litigation matters related to consumer warranty and product liability defense, including "Lemon Law" cases. The qualified candidate will draft legal documents, conduct research, represent clients in court, and collaborate on case strategy. Candidates should possess strong skills in investigation, drafting pleadings, preparing motions, maintaining client contact, developing expert witnesses, and managing discovery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties of the position include, however, are not limited to, the following:

· Self-directed case management from inception to resolution (under partner) including initial assessment, motion practice, depositions, settlement negotiations and trial prep.

· Prepare for, conduct, and attend hearings, depositions, and draft pleadings, discovery and motions as well as mediations and trials/arbitrations.

· Attend and manage hearings, mediations, settlement conferences and court proceedings.

· Draft pleadings, motions and briefs.

· Analyze, evaluate, synthesize and research case law, statutes, regulations and documents impacting the firm’s clients.

· Conduct legal research regarding complex procedural and substantive issues.

· Interface with clients and opposing counsel in a professional manner.

· Ability to handle complex problems utilizing initiative, creativity and sound professional judgment.

· Organize and manage documents from multiple sources in the court of multidistrict and other complex litigation.

· Build relationships with existing clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities.

· Work within a team and support peer associates.

· Committed to excellent customer service.

· Independently manage assigned cases and docket.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Juris Doctor degree and admission to the California State Bar.

· Proficient with legal research tools, including Westlaw and LexisNexis.

·2-3 years of private firm litigation experience.

· Preferred: Admission to additional state bars.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Outstanding problem-solving skills.

· Excellent legal writing and oral communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Positive and enthusiastic attitude, self-motivated and professional.

· Detail-oriented and motivated.

  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision and provide supervision to assigned staff.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively – both orally and in writing; Advanced research and writing skills.
  • General computer proficiency and keyboarding, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Work effectively with other firm attorneys and professional staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year

Salary : $130,000 - $155,000
