The Surgical Aide performs specific duties in assisting the OR Nursing staff in the care of the intraoperative patients by room cleanup, handling specimens, general errands, stocking of supplies. Assists nurses with care of adult, adolescent and pediatric patients. Removes biohazard and medical waste trash, vacuums carpets, scrubs floors, moves furniture and washes walls and enters orders into the computer.Job Description:
EDUCATION HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification in specialty area required for some positions. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: Prior experience in an acute-care or home healthcare setting. Worked with a diverse group of patients and staff members. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Basic computer skills. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of departmental routines and aseptic technique in sterile and non-sterile environmental safety. Pay Range: 23.09-28.12The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
