Organization: EMC - Eden Medical Center Position Overview: Under direction of licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy technician prepares, distributes, and transports pharmaceuticals including hazardous drugs and performs related duties such as interview patients to complete medication reconciliation. Pharmacy services provided encompass all patient populations of the hospital (i.e. newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, etc.). Job Description: EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Other: Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training Other: Graduate from Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or two years of college education CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE PHRMTECHR-Registered Pharmacy Technician PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: IV Additive, Unit Dose Minimum of one year of hospital experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Ability to prepare hazardous solutions, IV additive Job Shift: Day/Evening/Night Schedule: Per Diem/Casual Shift Hours: 8 Days of the Week: Variable Weekend Requirements: As Needed Benefits: No Unions: Yes Position Status: Non-Exempt Weekly Hours: 0 Employee Status: Per Diem/Casual Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines. Pay Range is $37.83 to $47.25 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
