An operations group leader manages a team of associates, ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient and safe while ensuring quality is not sacrificed. Essential Job Functions
Group Leader Functions
•Coach and support team members to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals
• Audit processes, evaluate performance, and assist in resolving daily challenges at the lowest level possible
• Track completion and due dates, complete and/or provide input, and present employee performance reviews, disciplinary reports, and makes recommendations for merit increases/promotions
• Conduct daily shift huddles and plan daily work assignments for team members
• Monitor daily attendance of employees and complete weekly payroll duties
•Active involvement and support in Transformation and Continuous Improvement projects to promote safety, quality, and productivity improvements
Personnel Management
•Train, develop, and maintain training sheets on all employees and make recommendations for employee advancement
• Provide employees information by compiling, sorting, and initiating all data, drawings, and material available, answering questions, and responding to requests
•Organize, lead, and direct daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
• Develop and share target dates and guide the team to achieve the schedule
• Participate in selecting new team members and direct personnel assignments
• Evaluate team members on a regular basis to ensure production requirements are met
Organizational Representation
• Generate a safe clean work environment by directing and educating personnel on all equipment, procedures, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships and comply with the terms of the collective bargaining contract
• Initiate and sustain an environment of collaboration within and between all teams and functions
•Support a positive work atmosphere through professional and effective communication with co-workers, customers, business partners, and management
Education, Skills, and Abilities
• 5 years in a production/manufacturing environment
•Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Technical and problem-solving skills
•Advanced communication skills (written and verbal)
•Ability to interact in a positive manner with management and other employees to achieve goals
•Intermediate computer skills – Microsoft Office
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Ability stand or walk for extended periods of time
