What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Sales Associate position at Sutherland Lumber Company?
Sutherland Lumber Company is a privately held company with a very successful history. Established prior to 1920, the company owns and operates retail home improvement stores and other businesses in the Midwest.
Sutherland’s is opening a new store location in La Junta, Colorado. We are currently looking to fill part time and full time retail sales associate positions. Must have the ability to interact with customers, sell to customers, problem solve and work under pressure.
Candidates must have a stable work history and must have work experience in the position applying for. Experience in the building materials industry is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Assist customers with home improvement questions and guide customers toward the right product(s)
- Upsell products and promote special offers or discounts
- Stock product on shelves
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Cross train to work in other departments, as needed
