Role Description
This is a part-time role for a Wedding Planner located in the Chicago area working remotely with frequent on-site work at various locations in the Chicago area. As a Wedding Planner, you will be responsible for working with clients in planning and executing their dream weddings. This includes managing budgets, coordinating vendors, creating timelines, and ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for the couple and their guests. This role consists of remote work and in-person work taking place in Chicago, IL or surrounding suburbs. An opportunity for sales commissions is available to planners who conduct sales meetings and bring in new business. This role is ideal for applicants who are passionate about creating unforgettable client experiences, eager to continually learn and build their skill set, and are excited about the growth potential in a small company. Due to the inherent nature of wedding planning, client relationships often last beyond 12 months so someone who is willing to commit to this role for more than one year is a necessary qualification.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of paid, professional wedding planning or wedding production experience
- Experience in event industry sales is ideal
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity, innovation, and a keen eye for design and aesthetics
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and event management software
- A commitment to sustainability and incorporating eco-friendly practices in weddings
- Knowledge of the local Chicago wedding industry and vendors is a plus
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary
- Reliable car and valid drivers license
- Reliable computer, phone, and internet access
