POSITION SUMMARY
The Resident Project Representative (RPR) will provide full-time, on-site construction inspection and documentation services for a large-scale coastal restoration project. Responsibilities include monitoring dredging, marsh creation, containment dikes, and terrace construction to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, permits, and agency requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily on-site construction inspection during active operations
- Verify compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract documents
- Monitor marsh creation, dredging, containment dikes, terraces, and settlement plates
- Observe contractor layout, staking, and surveying activities
- Track and verify quantities of material placed and excavated
- Prepare daily inspection reports with photographs
- Prepare weekly progress reports
- Participate in pre-construction and bi-weekly progress meetings
- Coordinate with Construction Manager and Contractor
- Assist with acceptance inspections, punch lists, and final project closeout
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience
- Experience with coastal, marine, dredging, or heavy civil projects
- Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications
- Familiarity with surveying methods and quantity tracking
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work extended field hours in remote conditions
CONTRACT CONDITIONS
- 1099 Independent Contractor
- Standard non-premium hourly rate
- Approximately 385 field days over project duration
- Marine transportation provided by Contractor
- No travel or vehicle allowance
