Maintenance Technician-2nd Shift

Hours: 2nd shift hours (45 hours/week)

Summary:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician maintains injection presses and auxiliary equipment to ensure that they are in excellent working order. Develops maintenance schedules for all equipment to ensure that it is kept in good, safe working order.

Job Duties:

• ·Responsible for seeing that the daily routine maintenance is performed on all molding equipment and that safety guards are checked.
• Works independently or with other maintenance technicians to troubleshoot any major mechanical or electrical problems.
• Works with outside contractors for problems that can not be solved internally.
• Ensures that all safety systems and guarding on all molding machines and auxiliary equipment are kept in good working order.
• Responsible for doing any facility maintenance that is outside the ability of the facilities maintenance team.
• Documents all activity in the MRO module.
• Makes recommendations and upon approval places orders for the necessary parts to improve or repair machinery.
• Assists in the moving of machinery within the plant as well as hooking-up and leveling new machines.
• Responsible for performing maintenance functions on all auxiliary equipment.
• Works with Set-Up and Secondary Technicians to ensure that the monthly maintenance checklist is completed.
• Upon approval, makes recommendations and places orders for necessary parts to improve/repair machinery.
• Assists in the moving of machinery within the plant as well as hooking-up and leveling new machines. Connects plumbing as necessary.
• Performs maintenance functions of auxiliary equipment including mold heaters, grinders and dryers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Completion of Maintenance Apprenticeship Program or related degree.

· 2 years in Electrical experience a plus

· Ability to weld and operate forklift.

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
