What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Custodian AM Shift position at Sussex County Community College?
Sussex County Community College is seeking a part time Custodian. The part time Custodian will report to the Custodial Supervisor and will be responsible for general cleaning activities, special project set ups and summer assignments.
AM Position - Tuesday - Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm and Saturday 7:00am - 11:00am
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools, equipment, and materials of custodial functions. Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment.
- Perform floor care duties such as buffing, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
- Remove trash and other debris for general custodial duties as well as special project (such as moving furniture)
- Perform set ups and break downs of scheduled events as per work orders.
- Reports supply orders to Custodial Supervisor.
- Reports needs for minor repairs to Custodial Supervisor.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure you are your team members are free from injury.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION -
- High School Graduate or equivalent
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Prior custodial experience preferred
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Professional and compassionate demeanor.
