What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Instructor of Art History position at Sussex County Community College?
Sussex County Community College is looking for an Art History instructor to teach ARTA103 Art History I and/or ARTA104 Art History II for day and/or evening sections. These courses involve a three-hour lecture, but candidates may possibly split these hours, as appropriate,
Qualifications
A Master of Fine Art or Master of Art degree is required with experience in teaching Art History.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The Learning Management System (LMS) that we use for our online, remote teaching and classroom support is Canvas. Prior knowledge of Canvas or similar learning platform is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills needed.
- 3 years of applicable experience and prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical and computer proficiency is recommended.
- Availability to travel to campus when/if necessary.
All instructors are responsible for teaching their assigned courses using a departmentally established course outline based on the master syllabus and assessing the course learning outcomes on the syllabus.
Qualified candidates must have a master’s degree in Spanish from a regionally accredited institution. Prior teaching experience at the community college level is strongly preferred.
Adjunct pay is based on $910 per credit hour.
