Duties
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative sushi menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
- Manage inventory of sushi ingredients, including fish, rice, vegetables, and sauces; ensure freshness and quality.
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills for precise cutting and preparation of sushi ingredients.
- Assist in training kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
- Maintain an organized work area and adhere to proper food handling procedures.
- Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about menu items.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in the restaurant industry.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on sushi preparation and fine dining experience.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations within the food industry.
- Experience in menu planning and catering is a plus.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous.
