What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Lead position at Sushi Freak Las Cruces TELSHOR?
Sushi Freak is hiring a Shift Lead to help run the floor and kitchen at our Las Cruces location. This is a great fit if you're a strong team player who wants to grow into management. Our team has promoted from within quickly, and this role is the first step on that path.
What you'll do:
- Lead each shift: assign positions, keep service moving, and set the pace
- Coach and support sushi rollers, kitchen staff, and front of house team members
- Keep food quality, portioning, and presentation consistent
- Follow food safety sanitation and standards
- Handle opening/closing duties, cash handling, inventory counts, and ordering
- Step in wherever the team needs help, including rolling sushi and serving guests
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve guest concerns
What we're looking for
- 1 year of restaurant or food service experience (leadership experience preferred)
- Reliable, positive, and calm under pressure
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
- Sushi experience is a plus, but we'll train the right person
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.01 - $16.00 per hour
