Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to exact specifications while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, sanitation, and organization. You will work closely with chefs and fellow cooks to ensure smooth service and consistent execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items accurately according to established recipes and standards
- Execute made-to-order dishes efficiently during service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures
- Communicate clearly with chefs and supervisors throughout each shift
- Assist with prep, station setup, breakdown, and daily checklists (opening, mid-shift, closing)
- Support seasonal menu items and special event preparation as directed
- Ensure kitchen equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained; report issues promptly
- Attend scheduled pre-shift lineups, kitchen meetings, and trainings
- Uphold all restaurant policies and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented kitchen culture
Qualifications
- Strong knife skills required
- Previous kitchen or line cook experience strongly preferred
- Fine dining or upscale restaurant experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- Attention to detail, consistency, and quality
- Reliable attendance and professional attitude
- Culinary school training preferred, but not required
