Position Overview
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for our guests and plays a key role in setting the tone for the dining experience. We are seeking someone who embodies professionalism, warmth, and a strong sense of hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Greet all guests warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming first impression
- Manage reservations, call-backs, and guest communication
- Escort guests to tables at an appropriate pace
- Provide general menu information
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand, foyer, and entry area
- Answer phone calls using proper etiquette and assist with reservations
- Ensure messages, notes, or guest inquiries are delivered promptly to management or the appropriate team member
- Ensure business cards, brochures, and displays are stocked neatly and presented tastefully
- Support communication between the host stand, service staff, and management
- Assist with special guest requests and relay guest feedback to management
- Complete all assigned side-work and daily checklists
- Maintain competent food and beverage knowledge to assist with guest questions
Qualifications
- Friendly, polished, and professional demeanor
- Ability to deliver hospitality in a fine dining or high-end sushi environment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask calmly
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable managing phones and reservation systems
- Open Table experience a plus
- Toast POS experience a plus
- Previous high-volume restaurant experience a plus
Compensation: $17 per hour
