What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Kitchen Prep Chef/Delivery Driver position at Sushi Counter?
We’re looking for a prep chef to join our team! No experience required - just bring a positive attitude, be dependable and proactive. We are looking for someone who enjoys being helpful and takes pride in their work!
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in all aspects of food prep and cleaning in our Central Kitchen
- Follow the daily prep list provided by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
- Ability to follow recipes to measure and mix sauces, proteins and cut vegetables to size
- Label, date, and store all food items correctly using the FIFO (first-in, first-out) rule
- Stock ingredients in refrigerators, freezers, and prep stations so they are easy to reach
- Check inventory levels and tell managers when stock runs low
- Unload and inspect incoming food deliveries from suppliers
- Driving daily deliveries to multiple stores and possible other transportation needs
- Maintaining cleanliness and general upkeep of the central kitchen and company van
- Assisting with small tasks around the stores
- Will require ability to lift and move some heavier items
What we’re looking for:
- Strong work ethic and a professional, positive attitude
- Physically capable of lifting heavier items
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving habits
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable helping with a variety of tasks including cleaning and light food prep
- Full-time and weekend availability
