Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients for meal service
- Support chefs and cooks in cooking activities, ensuring food is prepared according to safety standards and recipes
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold food safety and hygiene standards
- Handle food items safely during storage, handling, and transportation within the kitchen environment
- Help with dishwashing duties and ensure proper sanitation of all kitchen tools and surfaces
- Organize ingredients and supplies to facilitate efficient meal preparation and service
- Support catering events or special functions by assisting with setup, serving, and cleanup as needed
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and knife skills to assist with meal preparation
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and food safety regulations in the food industry
- Experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting or catering environment is advantageous
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
