Duties
- Answer incoming calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Assist patients in scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments efficiently and accurately
- Collect and verify patient information using data entry skills to ensure records are complete and up-to-date
- Provide clear explanations of medical procedures, insurance processes, or billing inquiries in multiple languages if applicable
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical information following HIPAA guidelines and company policies
- Use computer systems to document interactions, update patient records, and track appointment statuses
- Support patients by offering multilingual assistance or bilingual communication to enhance accessibility and understanding
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret patient needs and communicate effectively
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse inquiries with patience and empathy
- Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and basic troubleshooting
- Excellent analysis skills to identify issues quickly and provide appropriate solutions or escalate when necessary
- Bilingual capabilities in English and another language are highly desirable to serve a diverse patient population
