What You'll Be Doing in the role of Coordinator
The Coordinator, Event Planning & Experience, 3-Day Crew is responsible for the planning, recruitment, training, and on-event management of Crew and volunteers for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day® series. This role ensures a great experience for Crew while delivering operational excellence to support the success of the overall 3-Day event series. The Coordinator will collaborate closely with internal staff, contractors, and Crew Captains to create a seamless and mission-driven Crew program that enhances participant satisfaction, retention, and fundraising results.

Competitive Range of $21.03 to $26.67/hour, exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. What You Will Bring To The Table
Crew Recruitment & Stewardship
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet Crew and volunteer staffing needs across all 3-Day events.
- Build and maintain relationships with Crew members, Crew Captains, and volunteers to drive retention and engagement year-round.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Crew communications, providing timely, clear, and supportive communication.
- Lead Crew operations planning in partnership with the Event Planning & Experience Manager and event production team.
- Coordinate Crew role assignments, schedules, and logistics in alignment with event needs.
- Oversee Crew check-in, orientation, training, and support on-site during events.
- Ensure Crew have the resources and information necessary to deliver exceptional on-event participant support.
- Recruit, train, and manage Crew Captains and other leadership volunteers.
- Provide guidance, recognition, and accountability to Crew Captains throughout the event cycle.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-focused culture among Crew.
- Drive fundraising growth through proactive coaching and timely follow-up.
- Support Crew in achieving their fundraising objectives.
- Achieve Crew fundraising goal.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., coaches, online fundraising, production) to integrate Crew into the overall 3-Day experience.
- Monitor Crew engagement metrics and provide post-event analysis and recommendations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Crew programming, resources, and systems.
We Already Know You Will Also Have
- Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in development, communications, special events, public relations, community affairs.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service and motivation to business, social leaders, and internal colleagues.
- Ability to work independently or partner with a variety of teams.
- Excellent planning, organizational and follow-up skills.
- Demonstrated professional and mature interaction with other staff and leadership volunteers, sponsors, donors, and others to engage them toward the achievement of revenue goals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities at one time.
- Must have strong knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to understand scientific and medical information and convey to lay audiences including donors, participants, and volunteers.
- Knowledge of communications principles, ethics, practices, and techniques, including technical requirements.
- Exceptional skills in written and oral communications, including business writing, news writing/editing for print and broadcast, conversing by telephone and on video and conducting presentations to large or small groups.
- Social media skills and knowledge of digital communication platforms.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Travel Requirement: Ability to travel to four (4) 3-Day events per year.
- Knowledge of community organization, program, fundraising and marketing principles, practices and techniques.
- Voluntary health agency experience.
