Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our facilities. The Facilities Manager at the Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program (SAOP) is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of SAOP's physical spaces. This role oversees building maintenance, and compliance while fostering a welcoming and safe environment for survivors, staff, and volunteers. The Facilities Manager will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and develop strategies for long-term facility improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Management:
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of SAOP facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, security, and fire safety systems.
Manage contracts and relationships with external vendors for repairs, cleaning, security, and other facility needs.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential facility issues and implement solutions proactively.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures for facility use, maintenance, and emergency preparedness.
Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and accessibility regulations, including ADA and OSHA standards.
Safety & Security:
Implement and maintain security protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff, clients, and visitors.
Oversee access control, including key and security system management.
Train staff on emergency response procedures, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and workplace safety measures.
Budget & Inventory Management:
Track and procure necessary tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
Oversee inventory management for office and facility-related supplies.
Collaboration & Leadership:
Work closely with leadership, staff, and community partners to align facility operations with SAOP’s mission and service needs.
Support program staff by creating a functional and trauma-informed physical space for survivors.
Skills
- Proven management experience in facilities management or industrial maintenance environments.
- Strong supervisory skills with demonstrated leadership in supervising teams or projects.
- Technical proficiency with schematics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
- Project management skills for planning, executing, and completing facility-related projects on time.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in facilities management, construction, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience (minimum 3–5 years) in facilities or building operations required.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security), preventive maintenance, and safety regulations.
Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to manage vendors, collaborate with teams, and communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate and resolve facility-related issues efficiently.
Commitment to SAOP’s Mission: Understanding of trauma-informed care and working with vulnerable populations is preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders as needed.
Willingness to work in varied environmental conditions, including occasional outdoor tasks.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a background check.
Salary & Benefits:
Base salary is $55,000 per year with health expense stipend ($529.16 single with no dependents/$1066.66 married or has dependents), 5% base salary pension contribution (employer sponsored), short/long-term disability and life insurance (employer sponsored), 160 hours of PTO per year
