Role Description the Patien Account Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Chandler, AZ. This role is responsible for preparing, submitting, and tracking medical claims to insurance companies, government payers, and other third-party entities. Daily tasks include verifying patient insurance coverage, reviewing documentation and coding for accuracy, resolving claim denials, and following up on outstanding balances. The specialist will post payments, process adjustments, and maintain up-to-date records in billing systems. The role also involves communicating with patients, providers, and payers to clarify billing questions, ensure compliance with regulations, and support timely reimbursement. Open Negotiations, IDRs, and offer ketters are oart of the daily routine.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interpret clinical documentation.
- Experience working with insurance plans, including commercial payers, and familiarity with coverage policies.
- Proficiency with Medicare billing rules, guidelines, and claims submission procedures.
- Understanding of ICD-10 coding and its application in claim creation and documentation review.
- Hands-on experience managing and resolving denials, including research, appeal preparation, and follow-up.
- Accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, recordkeeping, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and payer representatives.
- Ability to work on-site in Chandler, AZ and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with medical billing software, electronic health records, and general office productivity tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in medical billing or coding is preferred.
