What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier - Grill (Part-Time) position at Surry Community College?
Receives and disburses money for payment of goods purchased and assists customers in locating items. Maintains all aspects of condiments area, drink coolers, salad bar and assist with hot bar related items.
Work Schedule is Monday β Friday, 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM, with a daily 30 minute unpaid break.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work Schedule is Monday β Friday, 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM, with a daily 30 minute unpaid break.
A. Enters purchases into cash register to calculate total purchase price.
B. Accepts Cash/Debit/Credit for payments.
C. Adds up bills for catering and gives total to manager to bill out.
D. Maintains sufficient amount of change in cash drawer.
E. Counts money, gives change and issues receipt if requested by customer.
F. Balances cash drawer and receipts; documents discrepancies.
G. Trains new cashiers
H. Assists customers in locating specific items.
I. Maintains salad bar, keeps it stocked
J. Keeps condiment area and drink coolers neat and stocked.
K. Assists in other areas of Grill with such things as clean-up, serving/preparing food and keeping merchandise displayed in an orderly manner.
L. Perform work-related duties as assigned.

- Skill in handling and counting cash.

- While performing these duties, the employee must have stamina to stand or walk on hard floors for long periods of times.
