Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in camp activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times
• Implement age-appropriate programs that promote teamwork, creativity, and personal development
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular activity checks
• Support children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or behavioral management strategies
• Assist with daily camp routines such as check-in/check-out procedures, meal supervision, and rest periods
• Foster positive behavior through effective classroom management and conflict resolution techniques
• Collaborate with fellow staff to plan, organize, and execute camp events, sports activities, arts and theater projects
• Provide basic first aid when necessary and communicate any health concerns to supervisors promptly

Skills

• Experience in classroom management, childcare, or working with children in educational or recreational settings
• Knowledge of first aid procedures and certifications preferred but not required; training provided if needed
• Background in special education, childhood development or early childhood education is advantageous
• Strong teaching or tutoring skills to support diverse learning styles and needs
• Ability to manage behavior effectively and promote positive social interactions among campers
• Experience in sports coaching, theater arts or babysitting enhances your ability to lead various activities
• Excellent communication skills to connect with children, parents and team members in a professional manner
