Production Floater
Purpose:
The Production Floater is responsible for providing support across various production areas as needed. This position is crucial for maintaining production efficiency, meeting quality standards and ensuring the smooth operation of the production line by filling in where support is most needed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Support in tasks like operating machinery, packing, palletizing, inspecting raw product and box making.
- Must be able to perform all positions for each production line to support covering a position when team members are out on PTO and/or call in.
- Ensure production lines are clean and sanitary.
- Ensure that product is produced to high quality.
- Support team members when issues arise such as when rework is created, additional inspection is required or if a team member needs to step out of the line for training or meetings.
- Any other tasked assigned by management.
Essential Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, lifts, walks, reaches, stoops, bends over, handles product, smells, listens, speaks and sees to perform the essential job duties.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education and/or experience:
High School Diploma, (GED) or 2 years’ lead experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of production environment and troubleshoot problems effectively.
Bilingual – Spanish preferred
Working Conditions:
Report to work at assigned time. Ending time will vary based upon production requirements for the day. Flexibility in work hours and days is crucial. The temperatures range from 30 to 110 degrees in rooms. There is exposure to equipment and machinery that are considered to be hazardous. Potential electrical, mechanical, chemical, and heat hazards are also present. The level of noise is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Hard hats, ear plugs or muffs, frocks, non-porous steel toed boots, hair nets, must be worn at all times within the plant. Frocks are to remain in productions areas unless they are to be replaced when soiled. Latex gloves must be worn when handling products or contacting sanitary surfaces.
