What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rad Tech Assistant - Full Time (34889) position at Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge?
Hours will be 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday through Thursday
Provides health care services assisting with x-ray procedures. Works under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiology Technologist. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient’s conditions for successful completion of the procedure: i.e., the age, physical ability, and/or the mental status of the patient.
Education: High school diploma or GED. Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated, or hospital trained accepted.
Experience: One year of experience is preferred but not required.
Licenses/Certification: BLS required. Certified Medical Assistant or CNA certification preferred.
Physical Requirements: Lift and move patients using proper techniques and body mechanics; standing for as much as fours hours at a time; transport patients via wheelchair and/or stretcher; bend, squat, and reach. Lift and transport imaging cassettes weighing as much at 5-10 pounds.
