Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic II.  An ideal candidate will have HVAC service and repair, electrical, plumbing or carpentry experience.  

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to assist other mechanics in maintaining a well maintained, clean, safe environment for all hospital occupants.

Responsibilities

This employee will provide a variety of tasks, including but not limited to

• Mechanical system inspections
• Daily work request
• Project assignment
• Preventative maintenance
• Pressure washing
• Painting
• Moving of furniture and equipment
• On-call requirements
• Other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school preferred.

Experience

• 5 years’ experience in the operation and repair of mechanical equipment in a Hospital or Commercial setting preferred.

Mechanically inclined

Physical Requirement

Ability to stand and walk eight hours a day, bend and squat repeatedly, push and pull equipment continuously and lift up to 80 pounds of weight.
