What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Registered Nurse position at Surgical Center of Greater Annapolis?
Experienced RN needed to monitor the pre & post-operative patient during their stay in an ophthalmic Freestanding Ambulatory Surgical Center. The nurse will be expected to perform complete assessment and monitoring of the patient in the peri-operative phase, administer medications as ordered by the physician, and provide for the patient’s safety and comfort.
Facility Information: 1 OR suite, 1 pre-op bay, 1 pre/post-op bay, 1 post-op bay. Facility performs procedures on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays only for oculoplastic, cataract, & strabismus surgeries on adult and pediatric patients
Days Needed: 2 days per week and PRN
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
Required Credentials:
· Certified BLS & ACLS Provider. PALS certification preferred or willingness to train
· Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Work Experience:
Required: Two years of patient care
Preferred: One-year current nursing experience in ASC, PACU, ER, or Critical Care
Minimum Qualifications and Working Conditions:
1. Can meet the physical demands of walking, sitting, standing, lifting, pushing of equipment, mental alertness, and help in the physical care of patients. Requires good coordination and emotional stability.
2. Understands risks of exposure to blood, excrement, secretions, odors, and gases
