We are a busy, established private Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) practice with multiple providers and two office locations. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team.

This is a fast-paced position that requires someone who is organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with physicians, patients, and staff. The successful candidate will be expected to work between both office locations as needed and be able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining excellent patient care and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs and medical histories
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Assist physicians with patient care and office-based procedures
  • Communicate directly with physicians regarding patient needs, concerns, and follow-up care
  • Triage patient phone calls and determine appropriate follow-up
  • Answer and respond to patient messages in a timely and professional manner
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
  • Schedule surgeries and coordinate necessary pre-operative requirements
  • Coordinate and assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care
  • Order and coordinate imaging and other diagnostic testing as directed by providers
  • Process and coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers
  • Prepare examination rooms and set up supplies and equipment for office procedures
  • Clean, disinfect, sanitize, and properly maintain medical instruments and equipment
  • Follow established infection-control procedures and OSHA safety standards
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations
  • Accurately document patient information and clinical activities in the electronic medical record
  • Assist with maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment
  • Work cooperatively with physicians, medical assistants, front-office staff, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Travel between the practice's two office locations as needed

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
  • Highschool Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Experience in EHR systems
  • 2 years previous medical assistant experience required; ENT or specialty-office experience preferred
  • Strong clinical and patient-care skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to triage calls and appropriately prioritize patient needs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy medical environment
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and medical office safety requirements
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and adapting to the needs of a busy practice
  • Willingness and ability to work between two office locations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
