Responsibilities:
- Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies using appropriate methods and techniques.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness before and after sterilization processes.
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning and perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to anticipate instrument needs and ensure timely availability.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
- Participate in training and education programs to stay current with sterilization techniques and best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sterile processing required
- Must have knowledge/experience running Steris Equipment including: ultrasonic washer, washer/disinfector, steam autoclave, Medivator, V-Pro and Scope-Buddy systems
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of patient information and sensitive materials.
