Duties
- Lead and coordinate nursing teams across multiple departments, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Manage patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations to support accurate diagnoses.
- Supervise medication administration, pain management protocols—including acute pain management—and ensure proper documentation in medical records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain medical documentation.
Skills
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders (e.g., PTSD, bipolar disorder, severe anxiety, behavioral disorders)
- Experience with psychiatric medications (administration, monitoring side effects, compliance)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care
- Ability to assess risk of self-harm or aggression
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Supervising and mentoring nursing staff
- Delegating tasks and managing shift coverage
- Ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and care standards
- Care planning and documentation (treatment plans, progress notes)
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., Medicaid, state PRTF standards, Joint Commission if applicable)
- Managing medication inventory and audits
- Scheduling and workflow coordination
