Credit Analyst
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, reviewing financial information, establishing credit limits, monitoring account risk, and supporting accounts receivable efforts. The Credit Analyst will work closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to minimize financial risk while supporting business growth and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Analysis & Risk AssessmentReview and analyze customer credit applications and supporting financial documentation.Evaluate financial statements, credit reports, payment history, and other relevant data to determine credit risk.Establish and recommend appropriate credit limits and payment terms.Monitor existing customer accounts for changes in creditworthiness and risk exposure.Conduct periodic credit reviews and account assessments
.Account Monitoring & Collections SupportTrack customer payment trends and identify delinquency risks.Partner with Accounts Receivable to address past-due accounts and collection efforts.Review aging reports and recommend actions to reduce outstanding balances.Assist with resolving payment disputes and customer account issuesSupport cash flow objectives through proactive account monitoring.Reporting & ComplianceMaintain accurate credit files and customer records.Prepare credit risk reports and account analysis for management.Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.Recommend updates to credit policies based on market conditions and risk trends.Support internal and external audit requests as needed
.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with sales and operational teams to balance customer service with risk management.Communicate credit decisions and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.Assist with contract reviews related to payment terms and credit requirements.Provide guidance regarding customer credit exposure and risk mitigation strategies
.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve credit review processes and operational efficiencies.Assist with system enhancements and reporting automation initiatives. Support finance department projects and continuous improvement efforts.QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred.Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considere
d.Experience5 years minumum of experience in Credit Analysis, Accounts Receivable, Commercial Collections, Finance, Banking, or related field preferred.Experience reviewing financial statements and assessing credit risk.Experience working with ERP systems, accounting software, and reporting tools preferred.Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of financial statements and credit risk evaluation.Understanding of commercial credit practices and collections processes.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to make sound business decisions based on financial data.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
